About the Journal

Journal’s history

The journal is a continuation of previously published volumes of Prace Ekonomiczno-Społeczne (Economic and Social Studies) as a part of  Roczniki Naukowo-Dydaktyczne WSP im. KEN  (“Scientific and Didactic Yearbooks of the Krakow Teachers’ Training College”). It has been published under the present name since 2002. Since 2011, two volumes per year have been produced.

Review Procedure

The paper review process is supervised by Editors, members of the Editorial Board, who specialise in the subject of the particular paper.

The first stage is internal evaluation and qualification for the journal section. At the second, the article is reviewed by two external reviewers (double-blind review). The review takes into account the originality of the research problem, the methodology, the theses put forward and the relevance of the scientific content complementing the literature on the subject.

Open Access Policy

All scientific papers are published on an open-access basis. The papers are come out under the terms of a Creative Commons licence, which permits use, distribution and reprint in any medium, provided that the original paper is properly cited. The Editorial Board believe that such access to research supports education and global access to knowledge.

Ethical Standards

Taking care of the quality of the published scientific papers, at all stages of their work with scientific texts, the Editorial Board, the Thematic Editors and the Scientific Council of the journal “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Politologica” strive to respect intellectual property rights, ensure the reliability of the presented scientific research and adhere to ethical standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These standards set the final and indisputable rules governing the process of reviewing and editing the submitted scientific texts.

The Editorial Board, the Thematic Editors and the Scientific Council of the journal declare that the observance of these standards is not affected by any relations with the business world.

In the editorial process, the parties make the following commitments.

The Referees of all scientific texts submitted to “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Politologica” commit to:

  1. review scientific papers submitted to them fairly and objectively, in accordance with the ethical standards, refraining from any form of unscientific criticism;
    2. make every effort to improve the scientific value of the reviewed scientific papers;
    3. refrain from drawing up a review if the field of the reviewed scientific paper does not fall within their scientific competence and/or there is a conflict of interest between the Author and the Referee;
    4. inform the Editorial Board if they discover any breaches of ethical standards in the reviewed scientific papers, especially plagiarism and self-plagiarism;
    5. comply with the rules of confidentiality for all information related to the review process.

The Authors of all scientific texts submitted to “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Politologica” commit to:

  1. declare that all data contained in their scientific papers are original and true;
    2. declare that the scientific text submitted has not been submitted to another scientific journal for review;
    3. cooperate with the Editorial Board in the process of exchange of information on the reviewing and editing the submitted scientific papers;
    4. disclose the data on the source of prior publication of the scientific text if it is a reprint, in whole or in part;
    5. disclose the sources of financing the scientific research the results of which are presented in the submitted scientific papers;
    6. disclose the full list of authors of the submitted scientific papers;
    7. obtain the consent for the publication of other copyrighted elements of the scientific paper (e.g. illustrations, photographs);
    8. disclose information about any potential conflict of interests which may occur in the process of having the submitted scientific papers reviewed and edited.

.The expression by the Author of his/her intention to publish the paper in “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Politologica" equals his/her statement referred to in sec. 1 and 2.

The Members of the “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Politologica" Editorial Board commit to:

  1. decide about the publication of the submitted scientific texts considering their scientific value only, regardless of the Author’s origin, denomination, sexual orientation, gender, nationality and political views;
    2. take objective decisions on accepting scientific papers for publication and provide the Authors of the scientific texts with such decisions together with the reasons therefor;
    3. provide information on the journal’s website on the rules for reviewing the submitted scientific texts;
    4. maintain complete anonymity in the process of reviewing the scientific texts and not to disclose the content of reviews to third parties;
    5. withdraw from the process of editing a scientific text if there is a conflict of interests with its Authors;
    6. inform the Authors about any suggestions in the scientific texts, including editing and proofreading.
