Abstract

Nowadays civil socjety is often identified with the idea of participatory democracy, which is a voluntary participation in public life. The political transformation was a break through time giving the Polish women and men the opportunity to Fully participate in building a democratic state. This study will present selected issues concerning the functioning of the civil society in Poland after 1989. The starting point for consideration will be the results of research conducted among non‑governmental organizations that operate in the Mazovia Voivodeship.
