The aim of the article was to analyse the definitional possibilities, object‑oriented and subject‑oriented, of senior politics, in the optic of the political system. The argument was mainly based on the definition of the political system by Jerzy Kowalski. The author also reflected on the complexity of the notion of senior policy taking into account the concepts of politics, social Policy and public policy. The adopted research hypothesis assuming that senior policy is carried out by different elements of the political system and by different political systems verifies positively. The correlation of the definition with the level of the political system and the possibility of specifying the key actors on the public agenda should be noted in these considerations.
