Abstract

The main objective of the present article is to present the political path of the Nationalist
Movement Party (Turkish: Milli Hareket Partisi, MHP) which has been constantly present on
the Turkish political scene for more than forty years. In the course of the paper the author
discusses the character of evolution of the party’s program. Another important element of consideration is the search for the reason of such longevity of the party, as long existence
of a party coupled with gaining significant parliamentary representation is not that common
in Turkey.
