"Political” of Polish magazines for women in 1989-1992.

Abstract

The aim of the research was reveal the dimensions “political” of Polish magazines for women in 1989-1992. The research covered the most widely read magazines for women in the analyzed period: the weeklies “Kobieta i Życie” [“Woman and Life”], “Przyjaciółka” [“Girlfriend”] and “Zwierciadło” [“Mirror”]. Two hypotheses were formulated: firstly, the editorial staff of the Polish press for women did not avoid political declarations in the indicated research period. Secondly, a political discourse undertaken through the prism of gender equality not was so much in the formal and legal dimension as in practical. In the research was used qualitative content analysis.
