Ameryka jako symbol nowoczesności w filozofii Martina Heideggera

Autor

Abstrakt

At the beginning of the twentieth century, America, and more precisely the United States, become more than country. This was related to the development of capitalism and the emergence of an industrial society. Paul Dehns formulated the concept of „Americanization of the world”. In the economic sense, according to Dehns, Americanization is the modernization of the methods of industry, trade and agriculture as well as all other areas of practical life. In a broad sense, it is a continuous, relentless pursuit of profit, wealth and influence. Similarly, the German sociologist Max Weber created the idea of technology as a cage of the future, which phenomenon occurs in the most complete form in America. Martin Heidegger continued the ideas of his predecessors. The universal reflection on reality, as a result of the philosopher’s involvement in national socialism, has become the foundation for criticism of the modernization process, but also of the United States in their social, economic, cultural and political dimensions.
